CREATING A VISION BOARD
A vision board is a great way to figure out your health & fitness goals and visualize them in your mind. I've created 3 vision boards so far and I've reached many goals with them!
A vision board is great for things like:
- Places you want to go (I went to Puerto Rico for a yoga retreat.. all I know is that palm trees, warm weather, and yoga have been on my boards for forever)
- Something you would like (I now have my card, a Ford Escape I'd been dreaming of, new bathing suit)
- A representation of how you would like to sculpt your body, or a way you would like to feel (My boards always have girls in bikinis on them because I want to feel confident on the beach)
- Workouts you want to try (I had boxing gloves on my board, and I went to boxing a few weeks later and loved it!)
MAKING YOUR VISION BOARD
1. GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES
Cardboard/Foam Board (as big or as small as you'd like/what you have room for)
Nail + String for hanging
2. FIND INSPIRING IMAGES
Start by going through the different magazines and finding images that you want on your vision board.
Cut them out and start arranging on your board.
I love putting images of warm weather, beaches, yoga, handstands, bathing suits I want, quotes I love. This is YOUR DREAM BOARD girl!
There are NO LIMITS, go for it! Give yourself the chance to dream out loud here. Get creative!
What is it you REALLY want? How do you want to feel this year? What is that goal that you've wanted to reach for so long.
Now is the exact time to put it down on your vision board.
3. PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
Arrange the images on your foam board in ways that you like. You can overlap images, keep them all separate, use specific color tones, etc.
Once you find a good design/how you like it, tape those images down. Make your board inspiring for YOU.
Yours doesn't have to look like anyone else's because your dreams aren't like anyone else's!
4. USE IT (HOW TO)
Hang your vision board by your bed or somewhere where you will see it every day. Look at it. Close your eyes and imagine yourself having these things, feeling how it feels.
I imagine being on the beach in the warm sun. What it feels like to be confident in a bathing suit and running into the water. What it feels like traveling to tropical places and living
out my traveling dreams! Imagine what trying a new workout (like boxing) would feel like and how I want the class to go.
BONUS POINTS: if your dreams and visions make you smile! :) They should!
All these things should bring happiness into your life. The more you can pour your feelings into these dreams the better.
And there you have it! Once you reach your goals you'll look back at your board and say.. wow it's time to dream up new goals! And that's when you can create a new board with new goals. It's a process of figuring out what you really want in your life & letting it manifest for you. Feel free to change up your board when you're ready or flip it over and create a new board on the back.
